Chris grew up as the middle child of 5 kids in a small town (Olmsted Falls) outside of Cleveland, Ohio. He was introduced to golf at age 12 and loved it from the start. He grew up as a self taught player on public golf courses finding his swing through trial and error and lots of “digging it out of the dirt” range sessions. Chris played collegiate golf at Division III University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA where he met his current wife of 37 years. Together they raised 3 boys who have produced 4 grandkids. What a joy it is to love the grandkids and be involved in their lives especially when they attend “Camp Grandpa.”
During his 35 year work career, Chris worked in various aspects of healthcare including claims, sales and lastly operations before he decided to retire at age 60. In retirement, he is giving back to a golf game that brought so much satisfaction by working in the Bryan Park Golf Shop. He greatly appreciates the opportunity to make new friends through the Bryan Park Senior Men’s Association and looks forward to many more years of good competition.
He is actively involved in his faith through Mercy Hill Church and Greensboro Urban Ministries
Chris shot rounds of 78 and 72 to take the 2024 championship.
We are proud to have Chris Uthe as our 2024 Senior Club Champion!
